Meet Dr. Michael Cohen
Dr. Michael Cohen is board-certified in Otolaryngology, Head and Neck Surgery, and Facial Plastic Surgery with over 20 years of experience on Long Island. He completed his residency and served as the Chief Resident of Mount Sinai Hospital Otolaryngology Department in New York City. From there, Dr. Cohen joined Drs. Mollick, Etra, and Etra in private practice on the North Shore of Long Island. His attention to accurate diagnosis, conservative management, and an emphasis on general health and well bein quickly built him a strong reputation amongst his colleagues and neighboring communities. Dr. Cohen has since developed one of the most respected Otolaryngology practices in the area. To better accommodate his growing practice, he has expanded his offices across the North shore of Long Island and now serves patients from three offices in Nassau and Suffolk County.
Dr. Cohen’s emphasis is on providing relaxed, comfortable and personal care to his patients. He is well known for utilizing the most innovative techniques and cutting edge technology to achieve minimally invasive intervention and reduce recovery time in all aspects of his specialty. From fast recovery Coblation® Tonsillectomies in children to minimally invasive Thyroidectomies, Dr. Cohen treats individuals from all age groups with the same assurance of compassionate and uncompromising quality of care. He is one of the pioneers and preeminent providers of minimally invasive Balloon Sinuplasty. This “no cut” procedure can often be performed in one of his state of the art offices with only local anesthesia. Patients are able to return to normal activity quickly and enjoy a lifetime of decreased sinus issues.
Dr. Cohen is on staff in the Otolaryngology Department at Long Island Jewish Hospital, Cohen’s Children’s Hospital, and Winthrop University Hospital. He is the current Surgical Director at the ProHealth Day-Op Ambulatory Surgical Center, the first free-standing Ambulatory Surgical Center in New York. In 2011, Dr. Cohen joined ProHealth Care Associates to better serve his community and has since been designated the Chief of the Nassau Suffolk Otolaryngology Division.
